(National Sentinel) Go For It: On Saturday, fake news king The New York Times happily published a leaked, confidential memo that lawyers representing President Donald Trump sent to special counsel Robert Mueller in January.

The 20-page memo essentially made the arguments that:

— Presidents cannot be forced to provide testimony by an officer of the Justice Department that the president directs as head of the Executive Branch; and

— “[T]here is no statutory or constitutional basis for any obstruction charge.”

The fact that some schmuck leaked the memo to the paper indicates to us that Mueller may be close to issuing a subpoena to compel testimony from POTUS Trump regarding the very bogus “Russia collusion” investigation…which reportedly began as a counterintelligence probe but has now, somehow, morphed into a criminal investigation.

Even though neither the president nor any of his campaign staff was alleged to have violated any laws, as required for the appointment of a special counsel.

In any event, one of the president’s lawyers, former NYC mayor and federal prosecutor Rudy Giuliani — who has confirmed the legitimacy of the memo — has fired a shot across Mueller’s bow regarding the subpoena:

We’ll fight it in court.

ABC reporter Tara Palmeri confirmed Giuliani’s response in a tweet.

“Giuliani confirmed the contents of the letter to Mueller obtained by the New York Times. He says it’s still their legal strategy, telling me ‘If Mueller tries to subpoena us, we’re going to court,'” she wrote.

In an interview with ABC News‘ George Stephanopoulos, a far-Left hack and Clinton sycophant, Giuliani was more emphatic:

As for POTUS Trump, he must have known the Times story was about to be published. Shortly before it went live, he tweeted:

There was No Collusion with Russia (except by the Democrats). When will this very expensive Witch Hunt Hoax ever end? So bad for our Country. Is the Special Counsel/Justice Department leaking my lawyers letters to the Fake News Media? Should be looking at Dems corruption instead?

Earlier, former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova raged against Mueller for even considering issuing a subpoena against Trump. He also said if a subpoena is issued, “we’re headed for a constitutional crisis.”

In a separate interview with Fox News‘ Tucker Carlson, diGenova noted, ” There is no authority under federal law to issue a subpoena to a president of the United States to get testimony from him so it can be used at an impeachment proceeding.”

Former chief of staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese and constitutional expert Mark Levin also noted that Mueller has no constitutional authority to compel POTUS Trump to answer any questions.
