(National Sentinel)Â Ruination:Â A former Trump campaign communications adviser exploded at Democratic aides to the U.S. Senate following a behind-the-scenes question-and-answer session that is connected to the ongoing Russian collusion hoax.
Michael Caputo, a New York-based political consultant, said he has spent around $125,000 on attorneys to assist him in navigating various demands for testimony from Senate committees probing the collusion allegations.
He also said that expenditures have ruined his children’s economic future and has forced him to sell his house in order to pay his legal expenses.
Labeling the probe as a “witch hunt” — the president’s term for it — Caputo said he has demanded to know who is funding a secretive effort to continue digging into unsubstantiated claims that are nearly two years old.
“What America needs is an investigation of the investigators,” he said, as reported by the UK’s Daily Mail. “I want to know: Who is paying for the spies’ work and coordinating this attack on President Donald Trump?”
“I want to know who cost us so much money, who crushed our kids, who forced us out of our home, all because you lost an election. I want to know because God Damn you to Hell!” he said, the news site reported.
Caputo lived in Russia for 20 years but has adamantly claimed he has no knowledge of or connections to Russian government operatives nor did the Trump campaign. He has launched a legal defense fund; it has garnered more than $14,000 thus far.
He has told senators he “can’t possibly pay the attendant legal costs and live near my aging father, raising my kids where I grew up” because of the expenses.
“Your investigation and others into the allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russia are costing my family a great deal of money — more than $125,000 — and making a visceral impact on my children,” he said.
Currently, Caputo lives in a small town near Buffalo, New York, but says he will have no choice but to move “to Washington, New York City, Miami or elsewhere, just so I can make enough money to pay off these legal bills.”
Critics of the ongoing probe have said one strategy being employed by Trump’s Deep State enemies and Washington establishment politicians is to make him politically radioactive so that everyone abandons him.
Forcing Trump campaign officials to expend all of their resources on legal fees is part of the strategy, they say.
