(National Sentinel) Border Battle: Mexican officials are aiding an ‘invasion’ of more than 1,000 illegals into the United States over the Easter holiday to demand asylum, the Washington Examiner reported Sunday.
The group made up mostly of Hondurans, posted celebration videos on Facebook as they changed, “We are migrants. We are not criminals. We are workers.”
According to an analysis by the Center for Immigration Studies, Mexican authorities have permitted the migrants to drive north to the U.S. “with relative ease.”
The group said, “On Monday Pueblo Sin Fronteras posted a video with the caption, ‘The Refugee Caravan knocking down borders yesterday in Huehuetan! Immigration agents abandoned the post when they saw us coming. The people celebrate this first small victory!”
As the group moved north, local Mexican citizens provided them with supplies.
The goal is to cross into the U.S. this weekend and demand the Trump administration give them asylum. That said, the group has also prepared security measures if things do not go as planned, Luna said.
“Additionally, the group practiced security protocols, including formations which called for the men of the group to form a wall around the women and children,” she wrote.
“Moreover, the Central Americans made their way to Mexico’s Commission for Refugee Assistance and made calls for better compliance with international and national laws, faster processing of asylum applications, and an increase in acceptance rates,†she added.
Update: On Sunday, President Donald J. Trump warned against continuing to assist illegal immigrants in their attempt to violate U.S. law, explicitly tying NAFTA renegotiation to his border wall. In a tweet, Trump said the flow of illicit drugs and immigrants into the U.S. “must stop.”
“Mexico is doing very little, if not NOTHING, at stopping people from flowing into Mexico through their Southern Border, and then into the U.S. They laugh at our dumb immigration laws. They must stop the big drug and people flows, or I will stop their cash cow, NAFTA. NEED WALL!” he wrote.
