Out of Bounds: During an interview with NBC‘s “Today” show Monday morning, first daughter Ivanka Trump was asked whether she believes her father’s accusers of sexual misconduct and allegations of affairs, drawing plenty of heat from critics.
“Do you believe your father’s accusers?†asked network correspondent Peter Alexander, as reported by Breitbart News.
Trump said that as the president’s daughter, it was her privilege to believe him over any of his accusers.
But she also scolded Alexander for even asking.
“I think it’s a pretty inappropriate question to ask a daughter if she believes the accusers of her father when he’s affirmatively stated there’s no truth to it,†she replied.
“I don’t think that’s a question you would ask many other daughters. I believe my father. I know my father. So, I think I have that right as a daughter to believe my father.â€
Jim Hoft at The Gateway Pundit was outraged.
“Chelsea Clinton is 37 years old. Has the liberal media ever asked her once about her father settling lawsuits against sexual abuse accusers?” he wrote, in reference to an $850,000 out-of-court settlement then-President Bill Clinton agreed to with Arkansas native Paula Jones in 1998.
“Has the liberal media ever once asked her about his alleged rapes or groping of women?” Hoft continued, a reference to several accusations leveled against him by Juanita Broaddrick — who claims Clinton actually raped her — and Kathleen Willey, among others.
“Has she ever once been asked about the blue dress?” he wrote, which refers to a blue dress worn by former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, which contained traces of Clinton’s semen after having oral sex with her.
An independent counsel’s report at the time noted that forensic tests “conclusively” showed that the blue dress she was wearing “was stained with the President’s semen.”
It is believed that Clinton and Lewinsky shared their moment on Feb. 28, 1997, a day that then-first lady Hillary Clinton was in the White House, according to records.
