(National Sentinel) Irrelevant: For a year, CNN has been laser-focused on the alleged “collusion” scandal between the campaign of President Donald J. Trump and the Russian government.
The network has covered the issue from every angle imaginable, at times publishing or broadcasting information that turned out to be totally false.
On Sunday one of the network’s reported admitted, however, that CNN‘s continued coverage of a ‘scandal’ for which no evidence has yet to substantiate is having little impact with the American people.
“I’m so interested to see how the Russia investigation affects things, because so far, out in these districts when you talk to people about Russia, and that’s all we talk about at CNN basically, they say they don’t care,†Maeve Reston, a national politics reporter for the network, said on “Inside Politics.â€
“It doesn’t have any effect on their lives,” he continued.
Reston’s network, along with MSNBC, have both focused heavily on the collusion scandal. But in recent weeks, there has been an emerging body of evidence that the collusion narrative was a hoax created by the Obama administration to help Hillary Clinton and defeat, or undermine, Trump.
Reston also noted on Sunday that in her interviews with voters, she is witnessing a growing confidence in the economy during Trump’s first year in office.
“You are starting to see that uneasiness about the economy sort of dissipate,†she said, as reported by The Daily Caller.
“Remember, even in 2016 when we went out to these swing states and talked to voters, there was still this fear that things were suddenly going to turn down again,” she continued. “You don’t feel that as much anymore.”
