Trump rips NFL player for standing only during Mexican national anthem

(National SentinelNFHell: President Donald J. Trump on Sunday criticized Oakland Raiders running  back Marshawn Lynch for sitting during the American National Anthem but standing to show respect for the Mexican national anthem during a game against the New England Patriots in Mexico City.

“Marshawn Lynch of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders stands for the Mexican Anthem and sits down to boos for our National Anthem. Great disrespect!” Trump wrote on Twitter.

“Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.”

As The Hill reported, Lynch sat down during the playing of “The Star-Spangled Banner” but stood for the Mexican anthem.

And in October, Lynch wore a shirt to one of his games that said, “EVERYBODY VS. TRUMP.”

FO-logo-square-regular-2Trump has waged verbal warfare with the NFL since September, shortly after the current season began, due to players taking a knee or sitting during the playing of the anthem.

The president, like millions of fans, see those demonstrations — which players say are in response to alleged racial injustices and police brutality — as disrespect of the country, the anthem and the military.

The league, however, has responded that it was not prepared to require players to stand during the anthem, alluding to their First Amendment right to free speech.

The president does have a point, however, when he said that ratings and viewership for NFL games are down this year. By late last month, ratings had declined by about 10 percent in most markets, owing to the “Trump effect.”

  1. The NFL has far too many of these overpaid idiots. I haven’t watched a single game this season

  2. Its all so much stagecraft designed to maintain the ignorance of the masses in their quest to make them progressively dumb and dumber by careful education department design
