(National Sentinel) Standing Accused: An ABC affiliate in Alabama searched high and low for voters who believed stunning accusations that U.S. Senate candidate Judge Roy Moore sexually abused a 14-year-old girl nearly 40 years ago when he was a 32-year-old adult, but has been unable to find any.

FO-300x250-1As reported by Breitbart News, during a segment that aired Friday on a broadcast of a Birmingham, Ala., affiliate WBMA 33/40’s local news at 5 p.m., political reporter Lauren Walsh reported that she sought out voters in nearby Columbiana to get their reactions to a Washington Post report that alleged Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Roy Moore engaged in inappropriate conduct with four teenage girls more than 34 years ago.

None of the respondents according to Walsh told her they believed the Post’s reporting.

“It’s hard to believe the events that transpired yesterday,” Gordon Fluker of nearby Wilsonville, Ala.,  told Walsh regarding details in the Post’s story.

Walsh reported that Fluker’s answer was typical of those she was hearing from other residents.

“Out of all the voters we spoke with Friday in Columbiana, we didn’t find one voter who believed the Washington Post report about Moore,” she said.

Columbiana is the county seat of Shelby County, a county that is the home to many of Birmingham’s southern suburbs. The county is very Republican, and in last year’s presidential election, it went for Donald Trump by a 72-23 percent margin.

That said, in the subsequent GOP primary that took place earlier this fall that Moore won, the county went for his opponent, incumbent U.S. Sen. Luther Strange.

Strange defeated Moore by nine points in the GOP primary held in August. In the runoff a month later, Strange topped Moore by a 55-45 margin, Breitbart reported.
