(National Sentinel)Â ‘Foreign’ Policy: Well, here’s a case of the authoritarian calling the kettle black.
Venezuelan ‘President’ Nicolas Maduro, who is in every way but name a dictator, just called President Donald J. Trump the “new Hitler of international politics”” as he works overtime to rig the national legislature with sycophants so they will grant him more power he can use to starve his countrymen to death, Infowars reports.
The comparison came from an angry Maduro after Trump correctly described our hemisphere’s latest and greatest example of why socialism as a political system, which describes Maduro’s governing philosophy, is a guaranteed failure.
““The problem in Venezuela is not that socialism has been poorly implemented, but that socialism has been faithfully implemented,” Trump said during his well-received speech to the UN General Assembly earlier this week.
“The Venezuelan people are starving and their country is collapsing. Their democratic institutions are being destroyed. This situation is completely unacceptable and we cannot stand by and watch,” Trump said, adding: “I ask every country represented here today to be prepared to do more to address this very real crisis.”
Maduro, who wasn’t at the UN — probably because there isn’t enough money left in the Venezuelan treasury for jet fuel (which would be sad if true, given that Venezuela has the world’s largest proven oil reserves) — took Trump’s words as a threat.
“Nobody threatens Venezuela and nobody owns Venezuela,†Maduro said, adding that the speech was an “aggression from the new Hitler of international politics, Mr. Donald Trump, against the people of Venezuela.â€
In any event, for a power-hungry authoritarian like Maduro to compare anyone else but himself to Hitler is laughable. He has killed 49 protesters, locked up political opponents, and recently, as civil unrest throughout his failing country grows, he has replaced the country’s duly-elected legislature (which was dominated by political opponents) with a loyalist “Constituent Assembly,” a fake governing body that is set to give him even more power (hint: So he can be president for life).
He has ruled by decree since taking over for the country’s previous socialist ‘revolutionary,’ the late Hugo Chavez. Between the two of them, their socialist policies have decimated, economically, what used to be South America’s largest economy and most successful country.
Viva la revolucion!
If Venezuelan citizens want their country back from this tin-pot dictator who has had a large hand in ruining it, they’ll have to take it back by force. The South American ‘Hitler’ won’t give it up voluntarily.
