(National Sentinel) Climate: You’ve got to hand it to the editors and reporters at The New York Times: They are true believers and loyal Left-wing foot soldiers when it comes to any opportunity to make President Donald J. Trump look bad.
Trouble is, they’re just not terribly competent when attempting to do so.
Earlier this week the Times published details of an Obama-era study containing what is arguably the most dire “warning” yet regarding human-caused “global warming/climate change.” Citing the leaked report the Times noted:
The average temperature in the United States has risen rapidly and drastically since 1980, and recent decades have been the warmest of the past 1,500 years, according to a sweeping federal climate change report awaiting approval by the Trump administration.
The draft report by scientists from 13 federal agencies concludes that Americans are feeling the effects of climate change right now. It directly contradicts claims by President Trump and members of his cabinet who say that the human contribution to climate change is uncertain, and that the ability to predict the effects is limited.
“Evidence for a changing climate abounds, from the top of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans,†a draft of the report states. It was uploaded to a nonprofit internet digital library in January but received little attention until it was published by The New York Times.
The authors note that thousands of studies, conducted by tens of thousands of scientists, have documented climate changes on land and in the air. “Many lines of evidence demonstrate that human activities, especially emissions of greenhouse (heat-trapping) gases, are primarily responsible for recent observed climate change,†they wrote.
Oh, no! We’re doomed, right?
First, as Fox News reports Wednesday, a number of scientists are speaking out against the Times story and the ‘dire’ report, noting that there’s no news in it since, in fact, it’s been online for months:
The story, titled “Scientists fear Trump will dismiss blunt climate report,†said the draft report “has not yet been made public†but “a copy of it was obtained by The New York Times.â€
The paper also said “those who challenge scientific data on human-caused climate change” are worried the report will be publicly released.Â
But those who worked on the report are pushing back against the claims, saying the version that was obtained and posted in full by the New York Times has actually been online and available to the public for months.
“It’s not clear what the news is in this story,†Robert Kopp, a climate scientist at Rutgers University who is listed on the report as among the lead authors, said on Twitter.
It's not clear what the news is in this story; posted draft is public review draft from Dec, and WH review hasn't yet missed Aug 18 deadline https://t.co/0sZxCCvoMn

One of the “fears” as suggested in the Times’ headline was that our global warming skeptic of a president would somehow “suppress” the report’s findings. Turns out the report has been ‘out there’ now for months.
“The Times’ leaked draft has been on the Internet Archive since January, during the public comment period,†Kopp said.
Another scientist who authored the report, Katharine Hayhoe, a professor at Texas Tech who leads the school’s Climate Science Center, also emphasized that the report is already publicly available.
Important to point out that this report was already accessible to anyone who cared to read it during public review & comment time. Few did. https://t.co/eYgsj09Z97

“Important to point out that this report was already accessible to anyone who cared to read it during public review & comment time,†she tweeted. “Few did.â€
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders on Tuesday said the New York Times story is “disappointing, yet entirely predictable.â€
“As others have pointed out – and The New York Times should have noticed – drafts of this report have been published and made widely available online months ago during the public comment period,†Sanders said. “The White House will withhold comment on any draft report before its scheduled release date.â€
Second, the Times’ portrayal of this report as some “bombshell” that ‘changes the debate’ over whether man-caused climate change is real is nothing more than a perfectly-timed assault on the Trump administration’s global warming realism.
As Fox News notes:
In addition, the Times story quotes an anonymous scientist involved in the report as saying he and others are concerned the Trump administration would suppress the report.
“It directly contradicts claims by President Trump and members of his Cabinet who say that the human contribution to climate change is uncertain, and that the ability to predict the effects is limited,†The New York Times reported.
Two: Human-caused global warming has been regularly debunked by scientists and other climate experts as perhaps the greatest hoax ever perpetuated, initiated by global Leftists to wipe out capitalism and usher in an authoritarian global government — as admitted by the UN’s former top climate official.
Three: Could the timing of this fabricated NY Times “bombshell” have had anything at all to do with the Trump administration’s formal announcement to the UN a few days ago that the U.S. would withdraw from the Paris Climate accords? Most likely.
Understand that the Left is never going to give up on its global warming/climate change hoax. They’ve invested far too much time, money, and political capital in pushing the issue, and now they’re going after our kids.
