(National Sentinel) Media: Once again CNN‘s senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta has proven why most Americans despise people in the “mainstream” media.
On Wednesday, Acosta got into a rather heated back-and-forth with White House adviser Stephen Miller, who was at the dais to explain President Donald J. Trump’s RAISE Act, the first substantial immigration reform in decades that carries the president’s signature “America first” seal of approval.
As noted by The Daily Caller, Acosta characterized the White House’s support for the Senate bill, which retools the immigration system by prioritizing high-skilled, English-speaking immigrants, as meaning that America is “just going to bring in people from Great Britain and Australia.”
That set Miller off. Through Acosta’s repeated interruptions he said, “I have to say, I am shocked at your statement that you think that only people from Great Britain and Australia would know English That you think only people from Great Britain or Australia would speak English is so insulting to millions of hardworking immigrants who do speak English from all over the world.” Miller went on to accuse Acosta — correctly — of having a “cosmopolitan bias” to even think that way.
Acosta claimed to be able to read the minds of Miller, the president, and the Republican senators who pitched the bill.
“I think the White House as an unhealthy fixation on what I call the three M’s: the Muslims, the Mexicans, and the media. Their politics tend to be centered around bashing one of those three groups, and we see it time and time again,†Acosta declared to his fellow Democratic lap-dogs during a later interview on CNN. “Today on immigration, what the White House is essentially saying with a wink and a dog whistle to these battle states they won, is ‘immigration is taking your jobs.’â€
First of all, it’s obvious Acosta no longer views himself as a journalist seeking truth, but as some ‘social justice warrior’ who believes he is ‘fighting the good fight’ for ‘truth, justice, and the American way.’
He’s doing nothing of the sort. He’s just being a prick to Trump administration officials for the sake of being a prick.
“Immigration is not the reason the factory closed in Pittsburgh or the coal mine that shut down in West Virginia. The people that are struggling there, they need policies to get them out of this mess where they’ve been for generations,†Acosta continued. “I saw them on the campaign trail, following Donald Trump around, targeting those workers. The message just runs counter to what we see as American tradition.”
Acosta wouldn’t know “American tradition” if it bit him in the ass. Trump, by comparison, does know it — well enough to win several key states and the presidency.
“We always welcome all kinds of people from all walks of life into this country, all people coming into this country have merit, they shouldn’t be subjected to a point system,” Acosta further claimed.
Well, why not, Jim? As a country do we not have the right to decide our own immigration policies, via our elected leaders, like every other country? Why yes…yes we do. And who the hell are you to say what they should and should not be subjected to, regarding entrance and citizenship requirements?
Are you a journalist or are you running for office? Do you have some special education, insight or training that makes you qualified to offer counsel on immigration policy?
Acosta isn’t attempting to “obtain the truth” like journalists are supposed to do. He’s there to be a thorn in the side of this administration, period, to craft his own narrative and push his personal political and policy viewpoint. That much is evident.
As such, the White House should ban him from the press pool. Let him pontificate from the South Lawn until he can re-learn what it really means to be a reporter.
