(National Sentinel) Left-wing violence: The would-be assassin of Republican lawmakers gathered at a ball field for practice last week, James T. Hodginson, was carrying a “hit list” of other GOP lawmakers when he was shot and killed by Capitol Police, The Daily Caller is reporting exclusively.
And it would have been a true massacre, had the House GOP leadership’s No. 3 figure, Rep. Steve Scalise, R-La., the majority whip, not been there: Because of his leadership position, he is entitled to Capitol Police protection. Rank-and-file members are not.
TheDC reported further:
The list was written out on notepad paper and found in the shooter’s pocket, according to multiple sources with intimate knowledge of the situation, who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the sensitivity of the investigation. The list of names included Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, TheDC has confirmed. Fox News reported after this story that Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith are also on the list. All six congressmen are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which contains the lower chamber’s most conservative members.
The FBI has contacted members on the list.
Some members of President Donald J. Trump’s inner circle are upset that more attention is not being given to the fact that the Alt-Left’s incessant calls for “resistance,” “impeachment,” and its ‘staged’ acts of violence against Trump and the GOP no doubt led to Hodgkinson’s attack.
“For those still wondering, he didn’t hate baseball or beautiful summer mornings in June,†White House counselor Kellyanne Conway said in reference to this article. “He hated Republicans.â€
TheDC noted further:
Duncan said he spoke with Hodgkinson briefly before the shooting, when the would-be assassin asked him in the parking lot if the players on the field were Republicans or Democrats. Duncan said he answered that the players were Republicans, before leaving the field. Brooks was still present on the field when Hodgkinson began shooting with a rifle, wounding four people including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise. The gunman died after being shot by a member of Scalise’s security detail.
In addition, the FBI recovered a cell phone, a computer and a camera in the shooter’s van, and are processing those items.
Hodgkinson was a far-Left progressive sycophant supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders, who was robbed of the Democratic Party’s nomination last summer after party leaders rigged the process in favor of Hillary Clinton, who then went on to lose big-time to Trump.
Hodgkinson’s social media profile was filled with violent-sounding rhetoric against the Republican Party. “It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co,†Hodgkinson wrote in one post.
He also belonged to several anti-GOP groups on Facebook, including one called “Terminate The Republican Party.†The members of that group celebrated Hodgkinson’s mass assassination attempt, TheDC reported.
Sanders tried to distance himself from the gunman’s act.
“I have just been informed that the alleged shooter at the Republican baseball practice is someone who apparently volunteered on my presidential campaign. I am sickened by this despicable act,†Sanders said in a prepared statement on Wednesday. “Let me be as clear as I can be. Violence of any kind is unacceptable in our society and I condemn this action in the strongest possible terms.â€
Except, as we reported, Sanders attempted to raise campaign funds off the bogus narrative that Sarah Palin was somehow responsible for former Rep. Gabby Giffords’ shooting in Arizona in January 2011. So again, more proof hard-Leftists have no hypocrisy gene.
Scalise remains in critical condition.
