(NationalSentinel) Conspiracy:Â In bombshell fashion, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense under President Obama admitted there had been a concerted effort by the last administration to surveil candidate Donald J. Trump and his inner circle in the months leading up to the election.
In a little-noticed interview with MSNBC‘s “Morning Joe” earlier this month, the official, Evelyn Farkas, said she and others worked to hide information about members of the Trump transition team and “their dealings with Russia.”
In the interview, she also appeared to suggest that she asked Obama administration staff members to gather as much info on Team Trump as possible, then pass it along to Capitol Hill while spreading it throughout the Executive Branch, in order for the intelligence to be “hidden away in the bureaucracy,” so the incoming Trump administration wouldn’t “compromise those sources and methods.”
Per Fox News, Farkas told MSNBC:
“I was urging my former colleagues, and frankly speaking to people on the Hill, it was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can, before President Obama leaves the administration.
“Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior [Obama] people who left, so it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy … that the Trump folks – if they found out how we knew what we knew about their … the Trump staff dealing with Russians – that they would try to compromise those sources and methods, meaning we no longer have access to that intelligence.â€
She then said, “That’s why you have the leaking. People are worried.”

Talk show giant Mark Levin, who is also editor-in-chief of Conservative Review, called this “smoking gun” evidence, and said Farkas – who is now employed by the Atlantic Council, a think tank and, according to Sean Hannity, an advisor to the Hillary Clinton campaign – should be deposed by congressional committees looking into Trump-Russia ties, and the FBI.
“Ladies and gentlemen do we or do we not need to get to the bottom†of the Obama administration’s use of the intelligence community against the Trump transition team?, asked Levin. “This is a big deal.”
Here’s her MSNBC interview:
Once again, this appears to confirm Trump’s March 4 tweeted allegations that he and his transition team were under surveillance by the Obama administration. She also appears to admit that Trump advisors were also unmasked by U.S. intelligence and that the information was then leaked to people in Congress (Capitol Hill) and the White House.
As for the alleged Trump-Russia ties, we still have no real evidence to prove that there was a) collusion between Trump associates and the Russian government; and b) the parties conspired to “hack” or “steal” the election from Clinton. But we sure do have enough information to call for the Justice Department and appropriate congressional committees to add this to their current probes.
It seems as though the Obama administration used legitimate electronic surveillance on foreign targets to spy on the Trump transition team – which would have been having conversations with foreign leaders including Russian leaders in the days before the inauguration – and then, via a late rule change by Obama, officials spread the information throughout the government, knowing it would be leaked in a manner suggesting that something illicit was going on, when there wasn’t.
