(NationalSentinel) Employment:Â There is nothing wrong with American workers, stoked by paid union officials and Left-wing Democrats, marching in demand of outsized ‘minimum’Â wages for low-skilled jobs. That’s one thing about our republic – we have the constitutional right to assemble and redress grievances.
But there is also nothing wrong with business owners who are being squeezed by these outsized pay demands to find ways to remain profitable, and so many are, and in the industries where the least-skilled among us generally find employment: The fast food industry.
As reported by The Telegraph, robotics technology is rapidly advancing to the point where machines can now replace human workers in industries that don’t require much education or skill:
A burger-flipping robot has just completed its first day on the job at a restaurant in California, replacing humans at the grill.
Flippy has mastered the art of cooking the perfect burger and has just started work at CaliBurger, a fast-food chain.
The robotic kitchen assistant, which its makers say can be installed in just five minutes, is the brainchild of Miso Robotics.
“Much like self-driving vehicles, our system continuously learns from its experiences to improve over time,†David Zito, chief executive officer of Miso Robotics, told the paper.
“Though we are starting with the relatively ‘simple’ task of cooking burgers, our proprietary AI software allows our kitchen assistants to be adaptable and therefore can be trained to help with almost any dull, dirty or dangerous task in a commercial kitchen — whether it’s frying chicken, cutting vegetables or final plating,” he added.
Cameras and sensors help Flippy to determine when the burger is fully cooked, before the robot places them on a bun. A human worker then takes over and adds condiments.Â
But it won’t be long before even that task is done by machines.

Already restaurants are replacing table waiters with ordering kiosks. And there are restaurants experimenting with robotic ‘waiters’ that will bring orders to tables.
The fact is, for every protest demanding a ridiculous ‘minimum’ wage – like $15 an hour to sack fries and flip burgers and wait tables – that will push owners of fast-food restaurants and other businesses with low profit margins to consider replacing human staff with robots whenever possible.
Over the long term, this will result in massive job losses – many of them entry-level positions that not only provide our lowest-skilled people at least some opportunity, but that teach young people how to be responsible, productive members of the workforce.
While robotics were always going to be a part of our future and, as such, a threat to conventional employment, the transition is being hastened by the Left, with its irrational and outsized minimum wage demands for low-skilled positions.
It’s going to get ugly, folks.
