(NationalSentinel) Executive Branch: Democrats are once again circling the wagons to defend one of the corrupt, constitutionally suspect presidents ever – Barack Obama – after President Donald Trump accused his administration of “wiretapping” Trump Tower in New York City, but a former attorney general for President George W. Bush says Trump is right.
As reported by The Hill, former AG Michael Mukasey said this morning that while Trump was probably under surveillance for intelligence purposes, he wasn’t correct in blaming it directly on Obama.
“I think he’s right in that there was surveillance and that it was conducted at the behest of the attorney general – at the Justice Department,†Mukasey told ABC’s “This Week.â€
A spokesman for Obama, Kevin Lewis, denied his boss had anything to do with spying on Trump – in a most extraordinary denial that borders on criminal.
“A cardinal rule of the Obama Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice,” he said.
Oh, really? So, former AG Loretta Lynch meeting with Bill Clinton on an airport tarmac in Arizona while the FBI has his wife under investigation for criminal mishandling of classified information isn’t interference? Because the last time I checked, the AG is appointed by the president and, thus, is a White House official.
Or when Obama himself criticized the FBI director, James Comey, for reopening the investigation into Clinton’s email server in the days before the election, after finding new email evidence?

Or when Obama interfered with the FBI’s investigation in April, when he claimed Clinton would “never intentionally put America in any kind of jeopardy”?
Or when he angered FBI agents in October 2015 by injecting himself into the investigation?
You mean that ‘cardinal rule,’ Kevin? Because, boy, all these instances sure do seem to me like interference from the White House.
But I digress. While admitting that Trump is right – he was under surveillance – Mukasey’s claim that Obama probably didn’t know anything about it, in the heat of a campaign in which he had already repeatedly defended his chosen successor, Clinton, is laughable.
Hell, yes Obama knew. And truth be told, Obama likely approved the surveillance.
Remember, this entire Russia narrative is bogus. There is nothing to it, never has been anything to it, and never will be anything to it. Why? Because there’s no evidence to support the allegations that anyone on Team Trump colluded with Russia to steal the election from Clinton. To even suggest something like that is to step off a deep end you can’t recover from, and if Republicans had suggested it, they’d never hear the end of how crazy they are to even think such a thing.
Yet, Obama and Democrats get to suggest that very thing – to help assuage their consciences after getting beaten by billionaire reality TV star.
What we’re seeing playing out again is the Deep State covering for Obama. Throughout his eight years as president, Obama was able to remain aloof from every single scandal that came down the pipeline. His famous excuse – “Uh, well, uh, you know, I just found out about this through news reports” – was his way of dodge responsibility for everything. The excuse led any thinking person to conclude that either Obama was lying or he was the most incompetent commander-in-chief in the history of the country.
Which do you believe? What did Obama know, and when did he know it?
