(NationalSentinel) On Monday we featured a story claiming that Hollywood’s pampered Leftists did not speak for the majority of America or Americans. Today, a story from Vanity Fair, a publication focused on the entertainment industry, provides more evidence of that.

The report noted how Hollywood producers were turning more to artificial intelligence and CGI as a means of cutting costs and reducing (in many cases) losses because theater attendance is at a two-decade low, thanks to plunging ticket sales. Vanity Fair compared what was happening in the movie and television business with what has taken place in music:

09-02-16-03-17-18_promo_article_160x600-option-11With theater attendance at a two-decade low and profits dwindling, the kind of disruption that hit music, publishing, and other industries is already reshaping the entertainment business:

Of course, the same logic that had decimated music would undermine print publishing: readers didn’t want to travel to a newsstand to buy a whole newspaper when they were interested only in one story or two. And, in so many cases, they really didn’t care all that much whose byline was at the top of the piece. Subsequently, newspaper advertising revenues fell from $67 billion in 2000 to $19.9 billion in 2014. Meanwhile, the same pummeling occurred in the book-publishing world. Many consumers didn’t want hardcover books for $25 when digital versions were available for $9.99. An algorithm generally provided better suggestions than an actual in-store clerk. And consumers never had to leave home to get the book they wanted. Amazon, knowing this, eviscerated the business. While print sales have finally leveled out (largely through a reliance on science fiction and fantasy), the industry has seen sales fall precipitously over the past decade.

Hollywood, these days, seems remarkably poised for a similar disruption. Its audiences increasingly prefer on-demand content, its labor is costly, and margins are shrinking.

No doubt this is part of what’s happening to Hollywood’s vanishing profits. But you can’t ignore negative effects of Hollywood’s mindless, incessant liberalism, either – and frankly, we wouldn’t expect a lib writer from Vanity Fair to even consider that aspect.

But just look at what happened this week alone in Tinsel Town: Another self-congratulatory “awards” show that was less about the awards and more about insulting two-thirds of the country by hating on President Donald J. Trump. This, following a hate-filled protest the day after his inauguration that was attended by ‘stars’ like Madonna, Michael Moore and Ashley Judd, all of whom showed no small amount of disrespect to a man who is nothing like what he’s portrayed to be by a Hollywood that once embraced him when he was paying the bills.

Technology is certainly having an affect on Hollywood’s profits, without a doubt. But to ignore the very real effect that Left-wing stars, producers and directors are having on profits is a major part of what is driving the downfall of the entire ‘mainstream’ entertainment industry.

Those inhabiting Hollywood today are not the same patriotic stars who helped fight World War II and produced inspiring American fare. Today’s Hollywood is filled with bitter, Left-wing actors, directors and producers who hate their country, think America is what is wrong with the world, and detest a popular president voters just elected.

Insulting and stereotyping your fan base and customers just isn’t a very good business model.
