(NationalSentinel) As we get closer to Inauguration Day, Democrats are getting angrier and angrier about the fact that Donald J. Trump is going to be the next president. So angry, in fact, they have thrown away any sense of decency and decorum when discussing the man and his legitimate victory.
Add Rep. John Lewis of Georgia to the list. He has said he doesn’t see Trump as “legitimate” because–wait for it–‘the Russians hacked the election.’
President-elect Donald Trump began a long holiday weekend that honors slain black civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. by attacking another rights activist and politician who had said he doesn’t see Trump as a “legitimate president”.
Democratic Representative John Lewis, of Georgia, said on a segment of “Meet the Press” released by NBC on Friday he thought hacking by Russians had helped Trump, a Republican, get elected in November. Lewis said he does not plan to attend Trump’s Jan. 20 inauguration, the first time he would miss such an event since being elected to the House in 1986.
“I believe in forgiveness,” Lewis said in the NBC segment about Trump. “I believe in trying to work with people,” he said. “It’s going to be very difficult. I don’t see this president-elect as a legitimate president.”
Reuters went on to make sure it mentioned that Trump got less support from blacks and Hispanics “than any president in the past 40 years,” and Lewis’ “civil rights” activities from a half century ago. But of course, the report said nothing about Lewis using his race (he is black) as a crutch to hit Trump and any other Republican/conservative who has ever disagreed with him.
Lewis and other Democrats who have said they won’t attend Trump’s inauguration are  nothing short of a disgraceful, but it shows once again how Left-wing Democrats are the reason why political divisions in America are so deep and profound.
But of course, Democrats aren’t the only ones piling on after Trump hit back at Lewis on Twitter. Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., and neocon Bill Kristol, whose preferred GOP establishment candidates during the campaign never gained any traction among Republican voters, also criticized the president-elect, as though he’s required to ignore these personal attacks and allow him, and the office of president, to be denigrated by cheap political stunts and phony political narratives.
Note to haters:Â President-elect Trump is not required to heap respect on individuals who have not earned it and don’t deserve it. As vile as President Obama treated Republicans and other political opponents, they showed up for his inaugurations, never called him illegitimate, and showed the office he held with property courtesy.
With Democrats, however, no standard of behavior, no political tradition and no code of conduct is unbreakable. They are willing to sink to any level to mistreat, disrespect and denigrate the president-elect because they have decided it’s okay to do so…because he’s Trump.
No, Democrats…he’s the president. And as such, he deserves all the respect Republicans have shown Obama for the past eight years.
